Africa Rice Center works in collaboration with nine CGIAR centers on a joint project named as OCS (One Corporate System). The system is based on the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, Agresso Business World. All participating centers have worked jointly and prepared « common design document, it is the base of all concepts of the system setups.
Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director of Finance, the Consultant Application Specialist will be responsible for:
1. Serve as one of the cross-unit Business Processes implementations expert of the One Corporate System (OCS);
2. Manage and build business process into UNIT4 Business World;
3. Ensure that the project deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality;
4. Support in configurations within OCS in cooperation with other OCS team members (Process owners)
5. Provide technical assistance and application support to OCS users;
6. Test existing and new functionalities in Agresso;
7. Create reports in Excelerator and in Agresso report creator;
8. Support issues arising in live, test and UAT systems and liaise with the Systems Analyst to ensure that any changes are promoted to the business;
9. Review the business as usual issue log and resolve issues in a timely manner;
10. Ensure other issues and/or problems are monitored and investigated;
11. Support all projects in respect of OCS and other systems that integrate with OCS;
12. Contribute in the development of training materials and other guidance;
13. Ensure that existing business processes and procedures are reviewed and formalized (where necessary) for efficient implementation and to provide more business value;
14. Coordinate issue mitigation with respect to development or production challenges during the “golive” phase of a new solution and/or improved business processes;

Qualifications /Selection Criteria
Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 5 years of experience may be considered.
Work Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience of developing and implementing an ERP (Unit4 Business World – formally Agresso) would be a major advantage.
- Experience of leading a technical team in the delivery of business applications.
- Knowledge and Key Competencies Required:
- Experience of leading a technical team in the delivery of business applications.
- Knowledge of a mid-range mainstream ERP,
- Solid knowledge of database SQL Server
- Solid Knowledge of javaScript, C++, HTML, JavaScript
- Substantial exposure to hardware platforms, cloud computing and enterprise software applications;
- Considerable knowledge of business process management and budgeting, ideally with experience in Organizations managing donor-funded projects;
- Demonstrated success in project management and excellent understanding of project management principles. Certification in Project Management (PMP or Prince2) or Information Technology accreditation (ITIL or COBIT certification) is an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel;
- Ability to contribute thoughtful planning, careful execution, and effective teamwork;
- Ability to collaborate with other IT professionals and, as needed, various external consultants;
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously;
- Ability to be self-driven and able to work without close supervision.
Language
The candidate should communicate fluently (orally and in writing) in English or French with a good working knowledge of the other language.
